Plaster and Home Repairs on
This Home that was Built in 1776

This historic home, built in 1776 for Governor Isaac Tichenor in Bennington, Vermont, has undergone many restorations over the years. Notably, one of the pictures and the wallpaper were from the original White House, which burned down on August 24, 1814, during the British attack.

We performed surface repairs on interior plaster walls and ceilings, followed by a fresh coat of paint. We also restored a door featuring handcrafted Early American wrought iron strapping, carefully preserving the original hardware while fixing the door. Additionally, we hung pictures, mirrors, and plaques throughout the home. The plaster didn’t require full removal; instead, we meticulously removed only the crumbling sections before making the necessary repairs.
